Videogames now, Videogames before. (Personal Opinion)

(Dec-30-2013)

 Just an opinion. ._.

Yesterday I was reading an article about a new game of Residet Evil saga, that seeks to return to the roots of the games of yesteryear. Well this horror saga was the first of many that won my heart, leaving me nightmares in which Nemesis (RE3 enemy) chased me around the city. There were more people around and the stupid monster just wanted to kill me just to me. XD

Anyway, the thing is that the company that makes this game (Capcom), wanted to make the last installment of the series, focusing on young people between 15 and 25 years, when the most loyal followers are older like me. ( Yeah, I got tired of the new RE and many new sagas that should rest in peace in the third part.)

There are both good things and bad things of new video games, things that excite me to play and others do not.

Honestly, lately modern games do not offer anything to operate the gears of my brain. The action and horror games  haven't difficulty in the puzzles as before. Drive a character is more complicated each time in a game, move a character involves making a cruise on the joystick, a button combination that sometimes makes no sense.

And after graphics.... and after..... I do not know. For my current games lost all the emotion and passion that they had 10 years ago. Many good video games companies have gone bankrupt and had to sell their best franchises to companies not to let them die completely (Konami, Capcom, SNK, Activision..... Sega was saved because it has Sonic, and bought Vocaloid, but still hangs in the balance.)

Unfortunately many of them died from the folly of wanting to renovate and renew their old games, not make them die, leaving them worse as they were (The saga The King of Fighters for example, KoF 98 was a perfect game, then the next (99) died. Resident Evil to the RE Code Veronica made sense. Silent Hill  (one of my favorite horror sagas) to SH 4 and Origins was great.)

Guitar Hero, DDR, Megaman, Street Fighter, many good games have gone to hell for a couple of nonsense, many good programmers, designers and parts of a key to make videogames were removed by inane decisions.

It's a shame this happen, really old school gamers like me who seek some compensation with a faithful and loving remake of old games, they send us to hell because companies need to reach other kind of audiences. Programming stupid games that sent them to the absolute misery.

I still do not understand why some people are scared of games like Slenderman..... Really I can not understand. I bet if they play SH, they cry. Not a criticism for people who like that kind of games, only it does not produce anything to me and is not as complex to be called Survival Horror game, then do not get it.

   Anyway, just an opinion.

Later I'm going to relax with my old PSX and Sega DramCast. XD

Oh, and Happy New Year to you all. :)
